From the 1st of September we will be changing ISP. We are in no way unhappy with our current ISP Bredband2, but we want to try to explore the world of 1000/1000 Mbit Full duplex. As most of the readers know we have 100/100 Mbit now. So we’ve decided to give PirateISP a shot.
PirateISP is a brand new ISP founded by the Piracy Party in Sweden. They deliver 1000/1000 Mbit Internet with 16 Static IP addresses for small 525 SEK (53 Euro or 69 USD), it’s around 125 SEK more then we pay now, so it’s not like it’s expensive. One more plus is that we get Static IP’s which we have been trying to get for close to 1½ years but never succeeded in. The 16 IP’s we get are total overkill if you ask me, 4-5 would have been fine as all other ISP’s provide that in this network, but PirateISP are the only one that handle out Static IP’s which we are really thrilled about.

We’ve had some unforeseen power-cuts lately which has resulted in me buying a UPS for the network and for the servers.
The UPS should have enough power to supply the network and the servers for around 15-20 minutes. This should be more then enough since we’ve never had a power-cut that lasts longer than 5 minutes.

Furthermore we’ve changed the monitoring system from Cacti to Zabbix – You might be asking me why, it’s quite simple to be honest. Cacti has lately been suffering from various SQL injection vulnerabilities and the fixes they have supplied have not been working correctly.

With that said, I want to wish everyone a splendid summer and remember to drink a lot of water since we are not use to the heat wave we are currently experiencing in Scandinavia.

Rannveig and I have just spent a brilliant week together in Spain more precise Platja d’Aro. This is the first time in all the years we’ve been together that we have been on vacation just the two of us. My Mom and Ole has been taking care of Alexander and without this sounding wrong it has been freaking awesome not having to worry about anyone else then the two of us.
As I’ve understood on my Mom we have not been missed, they have had so much fun while we were not there. Well we are not jealous since we have had an awesome time ourselves =).

We drove the 9th of June and went to my Mom’s place in Esbjerg, where we stayed for two days before we started our long but fun journey to Spain. We had decided to drive and I do not regret that, yes it’s a long way 2.100KM, but it was totally worth it. We had a few dangerous moments on the road, and the only thing I’ll write about that is French people can NOT drive, they should use three wheeled bicycles instead, oh my god.
Platja d’Aro (Costa Brava) what is there to say, small town 80KM away from Barcelona towards the coast, awesome place nice people awesome shopping possibilities, sunny area, nice beaches, nice pools they got it all. We have been relaxing and sleeping long almost everyday so we are both totally recovered from all the daily stress.

That’s around what has happened since last, ah one more thing. You might have noticed the design change on the page, Why? – I was so clever to upgrade to WordPress 3.0 and the old theme was not really compatible. The page might still seem a bit fuzzy different place but I’m trying as fast as I can to clean it up.

That’s it – Ciao!

PS: DO NOT USE TRE.SE ROAMING WHILE BEING OUT TRAVELING.
