Windows XP Service Pack 3 feature or bug?

So as I thought I had overcome all the issues with XP SP3, to my surprise I noticed my system had started to become rather unstable. It started out with the system hanging up, blue screen and then a restart.
I took at look in the event manager but no fault was shown that had any relevance to this issue. I decided to use Windows XP own file-system check, restarted the computer and waited for XP to do its magic. After 1½ hour of file-system check I saw that I had multiply NTFS corruptions on several disks, those errors was fixed and now the system certainly ran stable again.
It’s a bit weird how many bugs has been in this release for my sake, don’t know how many others has experienced it, but if you suffer from System stability issues after SP3, I would recommend you to do a file-system check, Microsoft’s own does the job fine.
